Homeowner holdout

Chad says: "Your story reminds me of a gentleman who has refused to sell his home to the local hospital (St. Alexius) in Bismarck, ND. Over the years the hospital bought all the homes in the neighborhood and systematically demolished them for parking lots and future development room. However, t200703121838he man has refused all offers and doesn't want the hospital to ever get possession of his home. He's now surrounded by several hundred yards of concrete on both sides, but has so far won the war. I don't know the exact address of his home, but here's a google satellite image. I circled his home in red, the rest of the picture is hospital property."

The red circle is around the house of the gentleman that has refused to ever move, no matter the offer. All of the grey parking lots use to be houses that were purchased by the hospital and demolished over the years. His house is directly across from the emergency room. He was always a stoic hero of mine. Link

Picture 13-4 Yet another homeowner holdout: this one refused to sell when San Jose's HP Pavilion was built, resulting in a lone house situated in the middle of the arena's parking lots. Link
