This prototype concept car, the Aptera (from the Aptera Motor Company), uses a diesel-electric hybrid power train and has a rather impressive mileage: 230 mpg! This while cruising at 55 mph. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under 10 seconds.
The vehicle is expected to retail for $20,000. But the project will probably have quite a way to go before the Aptera can be offered to the consumers.
